|
May 3, 2010 - Attitude Finds Success in Carteret and Eatontown Tourneys
|
|
Team Attitude used Pitching, Power and Defense to earn five victories over a stretch of six games in tournament play at
Carteret and Eatontown.
-Outscoring their opponents 29 - 14 in Saturday's Cartert challenge, the team fought off 90 degree temperatures to earn two
wins.
-The heat was again relentless at Sunday's Eatontown competition as was the Attitude's impressive performance. The team
swept the tournament with three wins, outscoring their opponents 30-2.
Light's Out:
Pitching was sensational and text book dominant. Alex , Casey, and Madison were bothered very little by the extreme, spring
heat and picked apart the strike zones making it look easy.
Casandra Makes Record Book:
Casey's bat was as hot as her pitching. She smacked two home runs on Sunday to deep, right-center field. This was the first
home run in Team Attitude's history. She put the ball on the bat in crucial situations and drove in runs when the team needed
them the most.
#8 Releases Power:
Madison went deep numerous times over the weekend clearing the base paths and scoring her team runs. Her strong and
powerful swing has a signature of its own. Madison quickly earned herself the clean-up spot for the team and has been
producing flawlessly.
Catcher's Stamina Nothing But Impressive:
Jen was again tireless behind the plate catching 6 games, a challenging feat given the heat and competitive play. Her
presence deterred base runners and was a key element to victories for the Attitude. In game 6, she snuffed the Fury's hope
by throwing out their speedy runner's attempt to steal second base. Jen also offered outstanding offensive play for her team
getting on base and driving in runs.
Madison, Casey, and Jen each earned MVP awards for their outstanding efforts.
Team Play Example of Team Attitude's Mission:
Team Attitude is just that a team, and every player contributed and earned their place in the weekend's successful showings.
#5 & #7 Continue Fine Play:
Nicole continued her strong defensive play and consistent batting, again demonstrating the overall player within. Erika's keen
ability to make contact continued and by doing so she extended two-out rallies which benefited the team greatly.
Weasel & Auty Refuse to Quit:
Alex A. patrolled second base attentively, but it was her pitching that displayed the true heart of the athlete. Autumn is no
stranger to giving it her all and contributing to the team, and that she did both in the field and at bat. Both players put the C in
competitor.
#17 Is Here To Stay:
Maria brings heart and desire to the team and continues to meet the challenges of travel ball with positive improvements. Her
fearless swing put the ball in play and created chances for the team.
A/C Brings Her A Game:
Alex c. was dominant at first base the entire weekend. Her bat came through just the same, but it was her glove that stands out
for Team Attitude. Victoria met the challenges of playing numerous positions, second, short-stop, outfield and catcher. Her
versatility was welcoming to the Attitude as was her aggressive batting.
#13 Not Unlucky For Miss Jordyn:
Jordyn continues to cause pitchers problems at the plate. Her fierce swing found its mark earning her a clean triple. She
worked hard in the field sharing outfield and infield responsibilities.
Winning Is Nice but It's Not Everything:
The Attitude's success in the win column can not be overlooked, but more importantly it's an indication that the building
process is taking hold. Complete Schedule
